65 in-person public engagement sessions were held across the province between January 23 and April 12, 2024. Feedback from every session has been collected, carefully analyzed and summarized in the ‘What We Heard’ report. This feedback is helping inform the work to refocus Alberta’s health care system
A second round of in-person public engagement is starting in mid-January, 2025 to share information and receive feedback about the refocusing work.
These sessions provide updates on improvements to the health care system and gather feedback on access, workforce experiences, and local decision-making.
Public engagement began last year as part of Alberta’s plan to strengthen services, empower local decision-making, and improve outcomes for everyone. Insights from earlier sessions have already guided key changes, including launching provincial health agencies like Recovery Alberta and Primary Care Alberta and implementing legislative updates to support the transition.
“From the very start, we have been committed to building a health care system that works for every Albertan. By continuing the conversation, we are ensuring that their experiences, perspectives and expertise are reflected in our decision-making.”
–Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Health
The current round of in-person sessions began on Jan. 21, and registration is open. Check the schedule to find a session near you.
