Description

Beaver EMS is currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Advanced Care Paramedic to work on our emergency response services team as a casual employee.

Beaver EMS is responsible for emergency medical services in Tofield, Viking, and other communities in and around Beaver County. Our service provides 3 full time ALS units, with two stationed in the town of Tofield and one in the town of Viking. Beaver EMS provides a competitive wage, comprehensive benefits, enrollment in the LAPP pension program, $2000 Health Spending Account and recertification of standard qualifications as required (ACLS, ITLS, CPR, PALS).

We pride ourselves on having top of the line medical equipment, such as the video laryngoscope, Lucas CPR devise, IV pumps and transport ventilators.  We also team up with great instructors to provide excellent continuing education and in service trainings.

Hours of Work and Pay: Hours of work and pay are per the current CUPE collective agreement. Shifts are 24 hrs each on a core/flex model with two mandatory core hours.

Qualifications:

Actively registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics as an Advanced Care Paramedic

Current CPR, ACLS certifications (current PALS, ITLS, NRP is an asset)

Valid Class 4 Driver's Licence (current driver's abstract required prior to date of hire)

Current Criminal Record check, including vulnerable sector, required prior to date of hire

Required Skill Set:

Exercise positive interpersonal interaction with other team members and patients

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be reliable, dependable and capable of working as part of a team

Possess the ability to provide and accept constructive feedback from management and other team members

Willing to participate in public education and continuing education activities
